The Sporting Gun challenge
IPC Media is one of the largest magazine publishing companies in Europe, with all the design requirements for titles being catered for in-house. That is, with the exception of Sporting Gun magazine. It was a big leap of faith when the publisher took the recommendation of the editor to allow us to design the magazine under contract. It was up to us to prove that working in this way would offer benefits to the title.
The Dupree difference
IPC recognises our vast outdoors experience at Dupree. We have designed Sporting Gun and Which Gun magazines for nearly a decade now. This has included two re-launches, the most recent involving the re-design of the Sporting Gun logo. Benefits to IPC include the flexibility of having a large and creative team servicing the account and well as a huge experience of magazine design. Our knowledge in magazine work is second to none having, collectively, around sixty years of experience in the industry.
The results of our partnership
We are proud that Sporting Gun Magazine remains the biggest shooting magazine in the UK. Despite strong opposition and difficult times, the circulation of the title always remains robust. The IPC Media Creative Director commented on one project that, ‘this is one of the best re-launches I have seen for some time’.
